House P is a residential building in Appiano. The existing house was demolished, only the basement was preserved at the request of the owners. Therefore, the planning of the new upper floors was bound to static conditions. The building houses two generations. Therefore, the aim of the planning was to create two independent entrances and two outdoor areas protected from each other. Between the two building complexes there is a covered stairway which leads to the basement area. It is shared by both units. The upper floor with the sleeping areas is hovering over the two ground floor units. Thus, the access to the garage and the outdoor area in the southwest is covered and also the two building blocks, which are separated in the basement, are united on a plane. The building was constructed according to the guidelines of ClimaHouse A and is rather closed to the north, while it opens the southwest and therefore are wonderful views of the scenery. An inserted terrace that separates the two areas now offers the opportunity to combine the building in the future and to give rise to a spacious house.
