RAI Alto Adige // 2023
Passpartù: Othmar Barth

With his work, architect Othmar Barth laid the foundation for a building culture that is still considered a point of reference for South Tyrolean architectural language today: his focus was on the avant-garde and innovation. In recent years, the South Tyrolean architectural language has developed into a flourishing and increasingly innovative design and a love of experimentation. One person who has played a key role in this development is the architect Othmar Barth, whose buildings are characterised by their timelessness. Not only after his death in 2010, but also during his lifetime, the forms and concepts of the buildings he designed between the 1960s and 1980s revolutionised the concept of architecture in our country. His work is synonymous with buildings that tell a story of profound change. It is an architecture that is always open, that can always be redrawn with new eyes.

Happy Holidays

Christmas is the time for sharing and community!
After last year’s great success, this year we once again held “Engele Bengele” (the South Tyrolean version of Secret Santa) before the traditional Christmas dinner. We exchanged small, heart warming gifts with each other.

monovolume wishes you happy holidays and a happy 2023!

ADC Architecture&Collection Awards // 2022
HOUSE EB

We are delighted to announce that our project HOUSE EB has been awarded ‘Silver Winner’ in the ‘Private Residence Large Architecture Build-Professionals’ category of the ‘ADC Architecture&Collection Awards’. The villa stretches across a picturesque landscape surrounded by beautiful vine-covered hills and small forests. With its soft shapes, it blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings. The most striking feature, however, is the use of a traditional monk and nun roof. The lower nun tiles are interlocked with the upper monk tiles to cover the curved roof surfaces of the villa.

ARCHILOVERS // 2022
HOUSE K2

We are pleased to announce that house K2 has been voted ‘Best Project’ by the archilovers community. The basic concept of the project was a contemporary interpretation of traditional South Tyrolean architecture. The protagonist of the flat is the self-supporting internal staircase, which swings up to the upper floor in a U-shape and contrasts with the very slender access staircase outside. The use of local materials and craftsmanship lends the building additional authenticity and longevity.
