Starting point for the project is the unused area in the north of Reutlinger Street in Metzingen, where an expansion of the Outlet City is going to be realised. In the past there has been a textile factory, in which fabrics were produced and processed. The task is to elaborate a facade concept for the new mall. The first floor is going to host flagship stores and factory outlets, while in the upper floors there will be room for service and administrative spaces.
To create a bond with the past as well as a connection to the future use, the mutation in shapes and structures in textiles will be used as model to compose the visual configuration. The impression ought to create are textiles wrapping around the building, wherefore it will be mainly worked with free forms.
Due to a balanced interaction between the individual buildings, the whole G+V area is suppose to be empowered.
