For granting a better living and room quality on the attic floor, an installation of dormer windows is intended. An energetic restoration is in the foreground, whereupon amongst others accordingly new insulation windows are scheduled but according to the historic original.
The museum The existing Kornkasten is to be dehumidifying and restoring, but moreover stays intact and should conduce to the arrangement of temporary exhibitions. In respect of the proportions of the existing urbanism structure, exhibition space and display store mostly are positioned subterraneous, so that unearthly only a little entrance building calls attention to the function. The proportions are based on the Kornkasten, whereby it only differs from its materiality – brass-coloured cladding panels –which similarly encase wall and roof area and in addition reference to religious art. The entrance building, displaced slightly to the Kornkasten, is glazed on the basement in the eastern part. Also it is possible to open it by raising suitable facade parts. There is a ticket counter as well as the vertical development with scales and lift to the exhibition spaces below. By the abutment on the display store a constant room arise, which offers a high degree of flexibility when exhibitions take place. But if required it can be separated with a heavy curtain. Skylights, which are set on the sculpture garden like stones, enable a natural lighting and establish a relationship to the exterior space.
