APARTMENT K

Apartment K is located in the centre of Bolzano. A complete redesign of the existing premises has led to the creation of an extravagant and modern family home.

The living spaces are located in the front of the apartment. Entrance area, kitchen, dining room and living room seamlessly merge into one another. Cabinet walls and a central fireplace provide structure to these rooms. The night area is located in the rear part of the apartment. The large master bedroom has an open en-suite bathroom, while the two children’s bedrooms share a bathroom. All bedrooms feature their own balconies.

The main inspiration for the design of the flat was great minimalist artists, most notably Dan Flavin. In this context, light becomes the central design aspect and striking colours become active elements of the interior design. Lighting marks the transitions between the individual areas. The furnishings of the flat are kept in a simple white, which allows the extravagant lighting to really stand out. The most notable design element is the cantilever staircase, which leads to the large roof terrace. The colour-adjustable lighting of the staircase is echoed by the lighting of the roof terrace, creating a harmonious overall concept. arge glass surfaces on the upper floor roof terrace open up views of the surrounding mountains and allow daylight to flow into the lower floor. This results in an interesting interplay of shadow and light.

Arched windows let plenty of natural light into the interior of the flat and form a bridge between the old structure and the modern interior design.
